I first moved to St Leonards on Sea in 2008 (after living in several European Countries). Fulfilling a lifelong dream to live by the sea and with the stunning scenery and slower pace of life, it wasn’t long before I discovered a passion for beachcombing.
St Leonards on Sea is interspersed with sandy and pebble covered beaches and craggy coves. This unspoilt little corner of East Sussex has become my home.
Along the South Coast of England, the beaches are abundant with washed-up, sea-worn treasures, both natural and man-made. Naturally tumbled driftwood, which the transformative power of the sea, ensures each piece is entirely unique.
I soon amassed quite a collection of these beautiful treasures and felt I needed to find a way to preserve and display them, whilst giving them a new lease of life.
It wasn’t long before “NVE Crafts” was born, bringing together some of my greatest passions; Coastal, Woodland, History of the area, and Art and Craft. Using all of these, I have created my little cottage industry.
Using the diverse landscape around me as inspiration, I began creating Coastal and Woodland art and Craft work, made almost entirely from the materials I found along the Coast and Woodland areas.
My quirky pieces are available to buy as original decorative coastal and woodland ornaments.
By using these materials, naturally re-shaped by the sea, and weather worn amongst the trees, each piece is guaranteed to be a one-off, a tiny fragment of our beautiful landscape, a part of rich history and a perfect memento of the Coast and Woodlands of England.
